It’s such a dilemma when buying a gift for someone who owns a campervan or motorhome. We are always searching for the perfect present and no matter how long you spend trawling the net you still have no idea of how well it will be received. we do have one solid bit of advice on this matter which is that motorhome owners just love gadgets!
It doesn't matter if the person you buying for has recently purchased a brand new campervan or has had much loved motorhome for some years now, our advice applies to both. Simply stick to something that’s super practical which serves a specific function and you are on to a winner. Here are some great year round campervan gift ideas that are sure to brighten up someones day.
A decent camping chair is probably one of the first key accessories that motorhome owners first consider after purchasing a motorhome. It’s an essential item and every penny invested is well spent as it will be used extensively in both warm and cold weather, hence why we recommend picking a chair that is of decent quality. This doesn’t necessarily mean breaking the bank, it simply means spending an extra 10 to 20 euro for a superior product that will last for years. You can pick up cheap and cheerful camping chairs in your local supermarket from time to time but you are not guaranteed the same level of back support stability or comfort. The material used in a quality grade camping chair is designed for extra support is weather resistant and very durable. Outwell, Midlands and Biocamp are options that we are happy to stand over as good camping chair and are available at our showrooms from €45 euro upward.
Barbeque and accessories
If the person you are buying for uses the camper a lot and likes to cook, then a portable barbeque is a very good option. This makes for a very versatile, lightweight and extremely flexible gift which can also be used at home, for daytrips and picnics. You can pick up a decent two burner BBQ in a case which is easy to carry and comes with a ceramic flat plate, ribbed plate and two burner rings. It can also double up as extra hob space when the campervan/motorhome hob is fully utilized.
Already have a BBQ? Then there are some really cool BBQ accessories that open up a whole new world of cooking options for the outdoor enthusiast. These include a skillet for stir-fry’s and one pot dishes and my personal favourite is a pizza stone, so you can cook your own pizza outdoors on the grill for all ages to enjoy. The good news is that we also stock BBQ accessories here at our showrooms and all the items pictured above are in stock.
On top of creating a very inviting outdoor entertaining area, outdoor rugs hold their own by minimizing the amount of dirt, sand and grit from getting inside your motorhome. It can be so hard to pinpoint where to buy an outdoor rug, so we have done the hard work for you. Try searching for outdoor camping mats on Amazon but do try and opt for the largest you can possibly get; this gives you a bigger outdoor area to enjoy. See a list of possible options below. The Rug Loft sell high quality rugs which are woven for added durability and are made of 100% polypropylene suitable for use both indoors and outdoors. Other cheaper alternatives are also available on Amazon while Rugs.ie is another option. If you want a great variety of large outdoor rugs that represent great value for money, checkout Kukooon rugs in the link below, we found this to be a particularly good website:

Amazon and Etsy are great sources for campervan novelty items. Here are a few pictures of the type of gifts you can pick up with great options to personalise messages and positive mantras such as this doormat. We also love this cheery personalised chopping board. From custom camping mugs for hot chocolate or hot toddies to key chain bottle openers, whatever the budget - you’re bound to find the perfect gift here.
Windbreakers serve many purposes, they shelter against the wind, protect against the sun and give excellent privacy especially when dining outdoors. Inflatable wind breakers are getting very popular, it’s a simple matter of pegging into the ground, pumping with air and in minutes you are all set up.
These are robust enough to withstand strong gusts and lightweight enough to transport and foldaway into a neat carry bag. Prices tend to start around the €300 mark.
A sat nav is perhaps the ultimate gift idea but it does come with a hefty price tag. If you are going all out, opt for the camper version. Garmin for example have Sat Navs specifically designed for campervans where they take the size of the vehicle into consideration when guiding you along the different sized roads. You can customise your Garmin here to include a camera backup system and an inbuilt dashcam, each extra is an added cost. Check out online at Garmin Motorhome.
Camping cookbooks are a really good option too, so check out or article on our useful tips web page - even more food for thought.
